As I was listening to EIDOLON, Materia Collective’s latest titan of VGM, I was astounded by the cohesion of the album. A crucial component of the album’s cohesion was James C. Hoffman, the album’s mastering engineer.
At the end of last month, Materia Collective released EIDOLON: Music From Final Fantasy IX. With over 60 tracks and three hours of music, EIDOLON sets a high bar for VGM, and I felt compelled to reach out to the album producers, Joe Chen and Emily McMillan, to hear their thoughts on the album.
Created by Ro Panuganti and Peter Gillette (of GHDY productions), this two-week-long contest challenges viewers “create the most cinematic, creative, and musically awesome video game OR movie soundtrack cover possible!”
I don’t think that LottaGuitar could have made this video more glam if he tried. This is a video with equal amounts of style and substance, and the guitarwork showcases a musician who’s confident without being cocky.
